ANALISIS PENGUMPULAN DAN PENGELOLAAN ZAKAT PADA BADAN AMIL ZAKAT KOTA BUKITTINGGI

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out what efforts do BAZ Bukittinggi in the collection and employee administration zakat in the city of Bukittinggi and its relevance in reducing the amount of poverty in Bukittinggi. The method used in finding the data is field research; this research could also be called a case study with a descriptive - qualitative approach, the research object of the symptoms or events that occur in society. Qualitative research, in general, can be used for research on people's lives, history, behavior, social activities, organization, etc. The results of the research shows that the efforts made by BAZ Bukittinggi in zakat fundraising have not been fullest even tend to be passive because it just done only
with cutting salaries of civil servants by 1.5 % and even then because there was a circular letter of mayors about zakat for Civil Servants and private sector should also be reached. In this study, the author noticed that BAZ was spoiled by Government aid amounting to 4 billion to fund productive coupled with other operating funds of the local government each year is given, so as though BAZ Bukittinggi hadn't again struggled in raising funds to charity. In addition, the officials who work on BAZ Bukittinggi mostly have another job in other institutions even become retirees, yet they have nothing affecting the management of zakat. And also many officials trouble with discipline, even there are officials never came into BAZ.
